Your Questions Answered...
What is the Grow Mama Course?
The Grow Mama Course is an in-person, small-group antenatal course designed to help you feel informed, confident, and supported as you prepare for birth and early parenthood. It combines honest, evidence-based information with warmth, compassion, and space to ask real questions.

Who is the course for?
The course is for pregnant women and their partners at any stage of pregnancy, though most people attend in their second or third trimester. Whether this is your first baby or not, you’re very welcome!

Can partners attend?
Absolutely! The course is designed to support both of you, helping partners feel confident, involved, and able to offer meaningful support throughout birth and the early days.
That said, you are absolutely welcome to come on your own, or to bring a friend or family member instead. However your family looks, you’ll be welcomed, respected, and supported.

What topics does the course cover?
We cover everything from pregnancy and birth options to feeding, sleep, newborn care, and life after birth. You’ll also learn practical tools for decision-making, comfort techniques, and how to navigate unexpected turns with confidence.

Is the course suitable if I’m planning a caesarean or induction?
Absolutely. Grow Mama is not about one “right” way to give birth. The course is inclusive of all birth paths, including inductions, caesareans, VBAC, and home or hospital births.

Is this course evidence-based?
Yes. All information shared is evidence-based, up-to-date, and balanced, while also recognising that every family’s values and circumstances are different.

How is Grow Mama different from NHS antenatal classes?
Grow Mama offers small groups, more time, and a gentler pace. There’s space for conversation, emotional support, and deeper discussion — not just information. Many families choose Grow Mama alongside NHS care for a more personal experience.

Where do the classes take place?
Classes are held in person in Ripon, North Yorkshire. Full venue details are provided once you book.

How many sessions are included?
Each course includes six face-to-face sessions spread over six weeks. Full dates, times, and course structure can be found on the booking page.

What if I miss a session?
Life happens. If you miss a session, I’ll always do my best to help you catch up with key information or answer any questions.

How many people are in each group?
Groups are kept small and intimate so everyone feels comfortable asking questions and getting to know one another. There will be a minimum of three couples, and a maximum of six on each course.

Will I meet other local parents?
Yes — one of the biggest benefits of Grow Mama is building local connections with other parents who are due around the same time. Many people leave with friendships that last well beyond the course!

What should I bring?
Just yourselves, and an open mind. Everything else is provided.

How much does the course cost?
The full course costs £225 - and you'll have the option to pay in full online, via BookWhen. Alternatively, you can select the 'Offline Payment' option, and pay a £50 deposit to secure your place. If you have questions or concerns about cost, please feel free to get in touch.

How do I book?
You can book directly through the website here. This will take you to an external booking link on BookWhen. If you’d like to ask a question before booking, you’re very welcome to get in touch by email.

I’m feeling anxious about birth — will this help?
Yes! Many people come feeling worried or overwhelmed, and leave feeling calmer, more informed, and more confident. The course is designed to reduce fear, not add to it.

What happens after the Course?
We stay in touch via your Grow Mama WhatsApp group. This gives you the opportunity to keep contact with your group, as well as contact me directly for questions, support, and advice. We'll also meet up for a reunion once all of your little ones have arrived!

Can I contact you before booking?
Of course, I'd love to hear from you!. If you’re unsure whether Grow Mama is right for you, I’m always happy to chat and answer any questions.
